Reimbursement Specialist
Location: Columbia, Maryland
Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $24.50 per hour + $2,000 Annual Bonus Potential

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented Reimbursement Specialist to serve as a liaison between office partners, patients, and payers. This role is essential for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and post revenue, making adjustments as needed
  • Review office sales for proper documentation (e.g., nursing notes, timecards, authorizations)
  • Generate and bill claims and invoices to various payer sources via multiple channels
  • Research and follow up on unpaid accounts after expected payment timeframe
  • Correct and resubmit claims or appeal determinations to ensure payment
  • Follow quality processes to minimize write-offs and improve collections
  • Provide excellent customer service to office partners, patients, and payers
  • Keep Team Leader informed of problem accounts or potential cash flow impacts

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or collections preferred
  • Quick and accurate alpha/numeric data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and web-enabled applications
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and professional image
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
