Hourly Rate: $24.50 per hour + $4,000 Annual Bonus Potential

The Reimbursement Specialist II reviews branch sales for appropriate documentation, generating and billing claims and/or invoices, following up on unpaid accounts, and providing support and customer service to branch offices regarding billing concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processes and posts revenue, making changes as needed
  • Ensures sales have appropriate documentation such as nursing notes, worker timecards, authorization, purchase order, and other payer requirements as appropriate
  • Accurately generates claims and/or invoices of sales and bills a variety of payer sources via mail, fax, web portal or electronic clearinghouse
  • Researches and follows up on unpaid accounts after expected payment timeframe
  • Corrects, resubmits claims and/or appeals claim determinations as necessary to ensure payment
  • Follows all quality processes for department/team to avoid preventable write-offs and improve collections efforts
  • Provides great customer service for our office partners, patients, other departments and payers
  • Keeps Team Leader informed of problem accounts or potential impacts to cash collections and AR
  • Acts a positive influence and role model on the team, contributes to team morale and success
  • Helps identify AR trends and brings to management attention
  • May assist with training new team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
  • Mastery of the Reimbursement Specialist role with at least one year of successful performance preferred
  • Ability to handle a larger amount of revenue and/or complex payers and states
  • Familiarity with Maxim’s systems and processes required
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience in medical billing, accounts receivables, and/or collections preferred
  • Quick and accurate Alpha/numeric data entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and Web-enabled applications
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Exhibit excellent work ethic and commitment to job responsibilities
  • Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Must present a positive image that reflects well on the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
