Job Overview
Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Classroom Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care and support to students in a school-based setting. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on a student's health, safety, and educational success while working in a collaborative and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to students throughout the school day.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Monitor student health status and accurately document care provided.
Implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and physician-directed care plans.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
Support students with specialized healthcare needs, including:
Tracheostomy care
G-tube feedings
Seizure monitoring and management
Diabetes management
Ventilator care (when applicable)
Collaborate with teachers, parents, school staff, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being.
Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, company policies, and school requirements.
Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania LPN license required.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Previous pediatric, private duty, school nursing, or classroom nursing experience preferred.
Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain a student-centered approach to care.
