Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and looking to grow your career in accounting and finance? We're seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our collaborative team in Columbia, MD. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments while supporting teams across the organization. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with data, and partnering with internal stakeholders, we'd love to hear from you.
As an Accounts Payable Associate, you will:
Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently to support timely payments
Research and resolve invoice exceptions within the Xign system
Monitor and manage invoice exception queues, including missing information, invalid data, and vendor-related discrepancies
Review and resolve image processing exceptions to maintain workflow accuracy
Serve as a primary point of contact for branch offices, regional teams, and vendors
Manage and respond to inquiries through the vendor services inbox
Set up new vendor accounts and maintain accurate vendor records
Collect W-9 documentation and assist with 1099-related research and compliance activities
Match and approve vendor records within the invoicing system
Maintain vendor file updates, including inactive vendor management
Support additional accounts payable and administrative projects as needed
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Experience with Great Plains, Excel, or electronic invoicing systems is preferred
