Direct Support Professional (DSP) 1:1 Community & Home-Based Support - Scranton, PA - Maxim Healthcare Services
Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide 1:1 support to individuals in their homes and throughout the community in the Scranton, PA area. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping clients achieve greater independence, engage in their communities, and improve their overall quality of life.
Position Details
One-on-one support in client homes and community settings
Assist with daily living activities and personal goals
Accompany clients to community outings, appointments, recreational activities, and social events
Encourage independence, confidence, and community integration
Build positive, supportive relationships with clients and families
Follow individualized care plans and document services provided
Responsibilities
Provide companionship and emotional support
Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily routines
Support community participation and social engagement
Promote client safety and well-being at all times
Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the care team
Assist with transportation and community-based activities as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or similar populations is preferred but not required
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to pass background screening and any required clearances
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
